Freelance software developer for Colombia — DIAN-aware, Nequi-ready, Spanish native.

I build software for Colombian startups and companies with native Spanish, DIAN facturación electrónica integration experience, and coverage of the full payment stack — PSE, Nequi, Daviplata, plus Mercado Pago regionally.

Timezone that doubles with US and LatAm

Colombia is UTC-5 year-round (no DST). Argentina is UTC-3. Our 2-hour offset means I start the day with 4+ hours of your morning, and you get my continuous afternoon — the same pattern your Rappi / Addi / Habi counterparts use with their US stakeholders.

DIAN facturación electrónica integration

Since 2019 DIAN requires electronic invoicing for most Colombian companies. I've worked with the XML UBL 2.1 format, CUFE generation, provider APIs (Siigo, Alegra, Facture, Carvajal) and the validation flow. Knowing which provider fits your volume and complexity saves weeks.

The Colombian payment ecosystem is particular

PSE (Pagos Seguros en Línea) for bank transfers, Nequi for mobile wallet, Daviplata for Davivienda users, Mercado Pago regionally, and Wompi / ePayco for merchant aggregation. I've shipped the ones that match the merchant's customer profile — not all of them in every integration.

Context on the Colombian tech scene

Rappi put Bogotá and Medellín on the global tech map. The follow-on wave (Addi, Habi, Frubana, Tul, Platzi, Rappi's alumni network) is substantial. I know the shape of the local market — English-proficient founders, ambition at LatAm-leader scale, willingness to pay for real engineering quality.

Why Colombian companies hire cross-border from Argentina

Colombia's tech sector is one of LatAm's fastest-growing. Rappi exports engineering talent across the region — many of the founders and senior ICs building the next wave of Colombian startups came out of Rappi's early years. The local market is serious: Addi raised substantially, Habi redefined proptech for LatAm, and the Platzi-educated generation has global-grade skills. Senior engineers at tier-1 companies in Bogotá or Medellín are compensated accordingly.

Hiring cross-border from Argentina solves the standard tight-local-market problem — same language at native level, productive timezone overlap, rate economics that beat US-pegged local seniors on price without sacrificing quality. Similar cultural comfort (LatAm business norms translate cleanly between Argentina and Colombia) means less friction on expectations and working style.

Where this fits best: Colombian SaaS scaling regionally, fintechs that need specific integration expertise with DIAN or Nequi, e-commerce migrating to Wompi or ePayco-aggregated checkouts, and companies serving B2B clients across LatAm who need someone comfortable with multiple country regulatory contexts at once (Colombia + Argentina + Mexico + Brazil is a pattern I've seen).

Billing: international services, reverse-charge on the Colombian side for IVA under standard import-of-services rules. Your contador handles the DIAN treatment (régimen común or simplificado). Payment in USD via Wise or international wire; COP if preferred, at the TRM on the day of invoice. Contracts pegged to USD protect both sides from peso fluctuations — which matter in Colombia given the FX volatility of recent years.

FAQs
